Funeral Services

We have been so touched by the many heartfelt words and actions of so, so many people.  I have felt a little more strength yesterday from above and truly have felt so many of your prayers.  Thank you all.  Yesterday we received a gift from somebody in our new ward whom I've never even met, only spoke with on the phone briefly around Christmas time.  This amazing young lady, named Elspeth Young found a picture on my blog and created our little Porter on canvas with pastel.  We all cried tears of joy when we opened it.  She truly captured his little spirit in this piece of art.  It now sits in the living room and will remain there until the day we see our little boy again.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 11th, 2010 held at the chapel on 828 W. 1600 N. Orem with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 am. A Wednesday night viewing will be held at Sundberg Olpin from 6-8 pm, 495 S. State in Orem.

Oh...Susette. What a beautiful tribute. He will love to see it when he comes back.
Elspeth is a good friend of my girls. Such a fabulous talent. Her dad was the stake president for many years.

We'd like to come by later--if you are up to it.
We love you.

I have a message from my Dane in Lithuania for you:

"Perhaps you could make a meal for sister Fisher and tell her that I love her and I am praying that God's grace--even his enabling power will rest upon her and her family. Tell her she is remembered to a little boy who was once one of her cubs all the way in Lithuania! Tell her there is a little boy who loves her and is grateful for the faith she had during that time to make a difference in my life. Tell her that her same testimony is even stronger now in the Plan of Salvation. It will help her during this time. Lastly if there is anything I can do for her please let her know I will. Please send these words to her that she may know her faith has helped others and at this time is sufficient for her current heartache! Send her my love."

What a beautiful gift.

I know I was crying while talking with you on Sunday, and have been on and off over Porter....but the message from Dane brings me to my knees. These young men serving, either here or on the other side are such strong voices of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The plan of salvation...what a blessing.

I. LOVE. You. Susette.

Oh... I'm glad you have such a beautiful way to remember your son!!! Elspeth is amazing... and one of the sweetest people on the planet! Get to know her and her family, you will be glad that you did! Like my Mom said, her Dad was in the Stake Presidency for a while. The whole family is amazing... just like YOUR family.

We sure love you guys. Like my Mom and Dane said... I know that you'll all be together again! Heavenly Father will take care of you however you need Him to. Love you lots.

Elspeth is such a sweetheart. She was just a grade older than me and I wanted to be like her when I grew up. I'm glad you are in that ward. Such a good group of people!
