The Loss Of Our Son Way Too Soon!

PORTER ADDISION FISHER

Only just 18 short years
I love this cute little buddy.  I miss him so much.  It's with so much sadness that I share our loss of him at this time.  He slipped and fell to his death during a hiking accident on Friday afternoon.  My heart is way too full at this time to share much more.  But we have experienced so much love and support through family and friends.  Thank heavens for the gospel and Priesthood blessings too.  There is so much to do now to prepare for a funeral and burial.  A mother shouldn't have to bury a child.  My daughter Kali has a beautiful way with words and shares some very tender emotions and feelings about her little brother.  If you want to read more please visit her blog(Be prepared with a kleenex)

  3. NO! Oh hon, I am so, so, so sorry! I cannot begin to imagine the sorrow- what a handsome, wonderful young man.

Know this, when you NEED to 'talk', write, cry- you can spill whatever you need to here. The happy, sad, anger, ugly- ALL of it. We will be here, reading, doing the best we can to hold you up through the unimaginable.

My Aunt has suffered through losing one of her 16 year twins in a hiking accident a few years ago. It is not something any Mom should EVER experience. Oh, I just don't know what to say except we're here. We care.

  23. I read Kali's blog, and my heart is broken for you and your family. Here is a poem I hope you find comforting, even just a little bit.
I'll lend you for a little time
a Child of Mine, He said,
For you to love the while he lives
and mourn for when he's dead.

It may be six or seven years
    or twenty-two or three
But will you, till I call him back,
take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you
and should his stay be brief,
    You'll have his lovely memories
    as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay
    since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down here,
I want this child to learn.

I've looked this wide world over
    in search of teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd Life's lane
    I have decided You.

Now will you give him all your love
    nor think the labor vain
And hate Me when I come to call
    to take him back again?

I fancy that I heard them say
Dear Lord, Thy Will be done.
For all the joy this child will bring
the risk of grief we'll run,

    We'll shelter him with tenderness
we'll love him while we may
And for the Happiness we've known
    forever grateful stay.

And should the angels call for him
    much sooner than we planned
We'll brave the bitter grief that came
    and try to understand.

  28. Susette I am soooo sorry to hear this news. My whole heart aches for you and your family. What a tragedy to go through. I'm sure you are numb and just going through the motions. All that is required to prepare takes so much energy and effort in such a short amount of time. May God bless you and your family during this difficult trial. Please know that my thoughts, love, prayers, and fasting will be for you and your family. God bless you.

  29. I am so shocked. I just can't believe it. I wish there was something that I could say or do, as mothers we love our kids SO much. As I am writing this, I too am crying. I am so sorry. I wish there was something more I could do. I know that you will be comforted during this but that doesn't change things. You will be in my prayers and thoughts. Even though I don't know you too much, I feel like we have connected because of so many things in our lives. Thanks for being my friend and I will be praying for you.

  36. I'm so sorry to hear about this, Susette. I have admired you from a distance and commented occasionally for a couple of years now. It saddens me to think of how hard this is for you. I lost my sweet father at a young age; but I can't imagine how much worse this is for you. If there is anything I can do to help, though I am mostly a stranger, please don't hesitate to ask. I will pray for your comfort.
